Sami Bentil

Pointillism

Often called “Mr. Conspirator” for his provocative and thought-provoking approach, Bentil has spent over five decades creating art, in the U.S. and Ghana, that challenges perceptions while advocating for global unity. A protégé of pioneering modernist Kofi Antubam at Achimota School, he transforms ancestral wisdom, Adinkra symbols, and Akan folklore into powerful contemporary statements on identity, cultural sovereignty, and our shared humanity.

Despite being color-blind, or perhaps because of it, Bentil emphasizes emotional depth and cultural narrative over chromatic precision, creating works of profound resonance. His paintings have earned international acclaim, with pieces held in private collections worldwide and on permanent display at Ghana’s National Museum.

Co-founder of Jah’z Art Private Gallery and a tireless advocate for African artists, Bentil continues to inspire new generations with his unyielding belief that art serves as a bridge to unite diverse peoples in harmony.
