Hammed Abolali Oba

Hammed   Abolaji-Oba (b. 1995, Lagos) is a Nigerian visual artist whose compelling   work explores human existence and societal forces. Drawing became his solace   and voice from a young age, a passion his parents nurtured and that he   developed under the mentorship of Mr. 4ward Art, evolving from simple   cartoons to intricate human figures.


After graduating   from Yaba College of Technology in 2018, Abolaji-Oba interned at Universal   Studio of Art, learning from renowned artists including Abiodun Olaku. His   distinctive portraiture, primarily rendered in acrylics, serves as poignant   narratives of individual struggles and triumphs against societal pressures.   Through his work, he exposes social inequalities and compels viewers to   confront the complexities of human experience.


Beyond his studio   practice, Abolaji-Oba co-founded RIPPLE EFFECTS, a mural company that has   transformed public spaces with impactful projects for major brands. His   unwavering dedication to social realism permeates all his endeavors,   establishing him as a powerful advocate for a more equitable world through   art.
