“Sanctity is like a cat, it abhors filth” unfolds as a meditation on purity, clarity, and the quiet guardianship of spirit. A gathered community stands in layered silhouettes—dark to light, earthly to ethereal—suggesting the many states of the human soul. Two central figures, marked by glowing circles at their cores, radiate a sense of inner cleanliness, as though their hearts have been swept free of clutter and shadow. They stand at the threshold between the visible world and the realm of intention, embodying the idea that true sanctity begins from within.
Beneath them, ghostlike cats glide across the lower plane—elegant, alert, and discerning. Their presence is symbolic rather than literal, representing intuition, boundary-keeping, and the instinctive refusal to dwell in what is spiritually unclean. In many cultures, cats are seen as protectors of thresholds, creatures who see what others overlook. Here they move like gentle inspectors of the soul, reminding the viewer that purity is an active state, maintained through awareness and choice.
Behind the figures rises a pattern-rich wall, evoking tradition, community, and the structures that shape our moral foundations. The interplay of shadow and light suggests that sanctity is not perfection, but an ongoing journey—a leaning toward clarity, integrity, and the refusal to let one’s spirit be muddied.
In this contemplative artwork, the message settles softly: just as a cat avoids what is unworthy of its presence, so too must the human heart guard its sacred inner space.
